Day 7 19.2.20 Bendrick Murrell

We survived the horrendous storm. Apparently there were tornados about last night. The rain must have been coming in sideways. The camper leaked around the doorway 🙄 but this morning you wouldn't know it. Sun is shining and not much water lying around.  Must've soaked straight in. Temperature got down to 13° overnight.

Went for a ride/walk around town. Cycling not allowed on footpaths here so we had to tangle with the traffic. Didn't enjoy that until I found a pathway.
Horses are getting a work out.

You can't go to Bathurst without doing a lap of Mount Panorama. Speed limited to 60km/hr. Beautiful views. Really enjoyed this more than I thought I would.

After that excitement we headed off to explore Cowra. Parking was crazy but we eventually found somewhere. Checked out the world peace bell after a picnic in the park with a squillion birds.

 Fountain outside the council offices.
Then we crossed over the Lachlan river to check out the painted bridge pylons.

Walked across to the rose garden and took too many flower photos 😆
Bee crawling around⬇ inside the flower

Popped into the visitors center to see the POW hologram.

The hologram told the story of the POW camp in Cowra and how the Japanese tried to escape.

As we were both tired we headed off to a free camp just before Young. Might be a bit noisy by the road which could be why we are the only ones here at the moment.

Today we drove 165kms, for a total of 1597kms. Temperature got up to 22°
