Planning has been underway for a very long time. Tickets on the spirit of Tasmania were bought back in October. We bought a new tow vehicle not long after.
Landcruiser cab chassis, which we put a bullbar, tow kit, tray, reversing camera and just a couple of weeks ago the canopy was finally fitted.
Marks been busy adding little 'extras', like better speakers, a 200L water tank and storage shelves.
Due to the dreadful bushfire season we are not sure which way we will travel south yet. Our plan is to be on the Goldcoast for our grandsons 1st birthday party mid Feb and then meet up with our traveling companions, Yvonne & Gunther and Carmel & Glen in Melbourne for sailing across the Bass Strait on the 24th Feb. Returning to Melbourne 5 weeks later.
We'll have 2 weeks in Victoria visiting family and attending my Nephew and soon to be nieces elopement party before we make our way north along the coast. We're planning on stopping at a couple of blazeaid camps to volunteer on the way home.
Packing for 4 states is challenging. Today Qld & NSW are sweltering in the heat, Victoria is wet, Tasmania has snow falling and we need to take work clothes for blazeaiding on the way home.
I've packed the all important crafting box for those wet days/nights we're likely to encounter and as always I have made a batch of pies and a batch of ice cream.
